Seaweed-Deodorizing Cassava Cat Litter: Fast Ammonia Odor Control in 15 Minutes

For many cat owners, the hardest part of litter box care isn’t clumping—it’s odor. Ammonia from urine spreads quickly and can feel especially harsh in small apartments, low-ventilation seasons, or multi-cat homes. Common frustrations include weak ammonia control that fades after a few days, fragrances that only mask smells, dampness that causes sticky residue and odor rebound, and clumps that break apart or stick to the tray—making cleaning slower and litter consumption higher.

To solve these pain points, we developed a dual-action deodorizing system that combines seaweed plant extract with bio-composite enzymes. Seaweed extract is a natural polysaccharide with strong adsorption. When it contacts urine, it forms an alginate gel with a porous 3D network structure, helping capture and lock odor molecules—especially ammonia. Meanwhile, bio-composite enzymes help decompose, neutralize, and purify odor-causing organic compounds in urine and feces, while reducing microbial activity linked to fecal fermentation and unpleasant sulfur compounds.

By integrating both components into the cassava litter base, we create a “lock + decompose” odor-control loop. Under controlled test conditions, our litter achieved an ammonia removal rate of up to 93.1% within 15 minutes (results may vary by environment and usage). Available in 0.5–1.5 mm and 0.5–3.5 mm particle sizes, it balances strong clumping, cat comfort, and a cleaner-smelling home.
